Social Work Intern

Work alongside the Hispanic Outreach Director to provide quality services to the Hispanic community. Our social services include but are not limited to: application aid for various circumstances, notarized letters, financial and educational assistance, interpretation, referrals, and general advocacy.

 

Duties:

• Assist walk-in, call-in, and scheduled clients with differing social services.

• Translate, or interpret, for a client who may have limited English.

• Communicate with clients in Spanish to assess needs.

• Attend events for outreach purposes.

• Open opportunities to attend, lead, or be a part of support groups for at-home moms, high school students, and GED-seeking clients.

• Advocating with our community members in their individualized needs.

 

        Position Requirements:

• Applicants must be bilingual in English and Spanish

• Computer skills

• Organized and detail-oriented

• Must be able to work in-office

Outreach and Social Media Intern

Work alongside the Executive Director, Hispanic Outreach Director, and Activities Director to promote and advertise the programs both present and future. Outreach and Social Media Intern’s focus will be on tabling events, social media posts, and other outreach opportunities.

 

Duties:

• Seek out outreach opportunities fitting to WACC (ex. Tabling events geared to our demographic focus).

• Create eye-catching fliers and posts that accurately represent our ongoing and future programs.

• Manage the WACC website and Facebook page.

 

Position Requirements:

• Applicants must be bilingual in English and Spanish

• Computer skills

• General knowledge of Canva

• Organized and detail-oriented

• Must be able to work in-office.

Program Oversight Intern

Work alongside the Hispanic Outreach Director in the planning, executing, and fluency of multiple programs; Mamas Hogareñas (Stay-at-home moms), 1:1 Tutoring for Spanish speakers seeking their GED, Camino (Highschool to college mentorship program), and more!

 

Duties:

• Assistance in executing the curriculum of each program.

• Coordinating all volunteers and clients.

• Assuring the fluency and success of each program.

• Researching and outlining any other programs that could be of benefit to add to WACC.

 

Position Requirements:

• Applicants must be bilingual in English and Spanish

• Computer skills

• Organized and detail-oriented

• Must be able to work in-office.

• Availability and flexibility of hours outside of our general business hours (9- 5pm).
