Get Involved

Western Avenue Community Center would not have a story to tell if it were not for dedicated Community Volunteers and University Student Volunteers.

We believe that all volunteers can make a positive impact on the Western Avenue Community Center and on the lives of the clients served. Our hope is that the volunteers also feel blessed by their service to others.

After School Program

The After School Program seeks volunteers to assist with reading instruction, one-on-one tutoring, homework, and enrichment activities.

Hispanic Outreach Program - Interpretation & Translation Services

The Hispanic Outreach Program seeks volunteers who are fluent in Spanish and have some knowledge of the culture to assist clients with interpretation and translation of government, medical and legal documents and communication with landlords, employers, schools and other community agencies.

Senior Programs

The Senior Programs seek volunteers to set up, decorate and/or serve for quarterly dinner-dances, assist with monthly BINGO, teach new computer skills and drive for field trips.
